LS Energy Solutions

Reflecting on One of Our Biggest Years Ever in 2025

As I consider my second year leading LS Energy Solutions, I’m happy to say that a year that began with a degree of uncertainty for the clean energy industry proved to be one of our most exciting yet. While 2025 brought the sort of policy shifts in the United States that come with any change in presidential administration, battery storage emerged as a central priority for U.S. energy strategy in the years ahead, and it’s one we at LS-ES stand ready to meet. Indeed, the country is on track to end 2025 with the largest ever amount of deployed storage.

At LS-ES, we had a major contribution to the country’s total storage deployments in 2025, with our largest project yet coming online. In September, we announced that the Big Rock energy storage site in Imperial County, California had begun commercial operation. The 200 MW/400 MWh project, which we operate in partnership with Gore Street Energy Storage Fund, is now currently providing resource adequacy and ancillary services for the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) electrical grid. This project represented one of the most significant milestones in the history of LS-ES, and I’m truly grateful for the hard work of our engineering and services team in energizing Big Rock. The completion of the site stands as an example of the specialized expertise and support customers can expect from a LS-ES project.

That specialized team continued to grow in 2025, and I had the pleasure of welcoming several new engineers to the LS-ES family over the year. This group will help our team continue delivering the elite battery storage installation services, supervision, and commissioning activities that LS-ES is known for.

You may have met some of our valued family and learned more about our battery storage services at one of the several events we had the pleasure of attending this year. Our team attended IESNA in February, one of the largest solar + storage events in the industry, and exhibited at CLEANPOWER in May. LS-ES also joined our parent company LS ELECTRIC’s booth at RE+, the largest clean energy expo in North America, in September.

Presenting our solutions at the LS ELECTRIC booth at RE+ was only one way that we continued our strong collaboration with our parent company this year. We helped LS ELECTRIC launch its new Austin-area campus in the spring, where part of our engineering team supports operations in the country’s fastest-growing energy storage market. Several members of our team also visited LS ELECTRIC’s headquarters in Korea this year, strengthening our relationship with our LS Group colleagues and partners.

We look forward to continuing to support LS ELECTRIC in their initiatives announced in 2025, such as partnerships with Honeywell and Samsung C&T to deploy energy storage and power distribution services.

I am eternally grateful to lead such a talented team of energy storage enthusiasts into 2026. Even amid a time of uncertainty for our industry, we had the great privilege and opportunity to turn 2025 into one of our most exciting years yet – and we’re just getting started. Thank you to everyone at LS Energy Solutions and LS ELECTRIC who make projects like Big Rock possible, and I look forward to announcing new projects and partnerships in the year ahead.

Be sure to visit our booth at IESNA in San Diego from February 18-20, and happy holidays from all of us here at LS-ES!

Sincerely,

Marcio
